Zambia's Investment Guide launch in
Belgium and the Netherlands

At the Brussels’ Chambers of Commerce today where
Zambia launched its first-ever nation branding and Investment
guide on the country, 20 Investor companies in Belgium
were invited to partner with the Zambian government to
exploit the country’s 58% land mass of mineral wealth
and electrification of the whole country at a cost of
$1.1 billion. The launch, initiative of the Zambian embassy
in Brussels and the Geneva-based United Nations Conference
on Trade and Development(UNCTAD) was led by Commerce Permanent
Secretary, Dr. Buleti Nsemukila, ZDA Chief, Andrew Chipwende
, Ambassador Dr. Inonge Mbikusita-Lewanika and UNCTAD’s
top official, Ms. Nazha Taarji-Aschenbrenner.

The full Zambian delegation comprised relevant technocrats
who told the captive audience of potential investors in
Brussels that Zambia’s Two billion tones of copper
and vast mineral resources were waiting to be exploited
by serious investors as well as the country’s need
for clean energy through the construction of wind turbines.
Dr. Nsemukila told his Belgian audience that UNCTAD’s
seal of approval on Zambia as Africa’s new frontier
for investment and profits is reassuring to any serious
investor.
In welcoming the high-flying Zambia launch and visibility
in Europe, Past President and Chairman of the Southern
African chapter, Mr. Michel Van der Voort declared that
the Zambian initiative was timely.“Our core business
is to take business to Africa and Zambia is on the right
track. I lived in your country for two years and it was
about time you marketed your country here because you
have a reputation of stability,” said Mr. Van der
Voort.
Investors also heard how Zambia has know 11 years of
uninterrupted economic growth and an increase in public
infrastructure such as schools, roads and health centres
all due to resources coming to government coffers from
increased private sector investment in the country.
